GoHardcover is a shared library for physical books. You add books you own and are willing to share, and other readers nearby can request to swap or receive them.
Agreements between readers are made inside the app. You can arrange local hand-off or agree on postage between yourselves. GoHardcover does not handle shipping or payments.
1. Tap the Scan tab in the bottom navigation bar.
2. Point the camera at the ISBN barcode on the back of the book — it will be recognised automatically.
3. Confirm the book details and it will be added to your library.

2. Tap Find Readers.
3. Browse nearby readers or search by email address.

2. Tap Invite and choose how to share your invite link.
3. Your friend signs up through the link and appears in your reader list.
1. Open the More menu on the Home tab and tap QR Code.
2. Your personal QR code is displayed — others can scan it to view your profile.
3. You can also tap Share to send your profile link directly.
1. Open the More menu on the Home tab and tap Search.
2. Type a title, author, or ISBN.
3. Results show which readers nearby have that book available.
1. Tap the Library tab in the bottom navigation bar.
2. Use the filter options at the top to view books by status (e.g. available, swapped, given away).
3. Tap any book to see its details or update its status.
1. Open any book detail page.
2. Tap the bookmark icon to save it to your Bookmarks list.
3. Access all your bookmarks from Bookmarks in the More menu on the Home tab.
1. Open the book detail page from your Library or from search results.
2. Tap the star rating to leave a score.
3. Optionally add a written review in the text field below the stars.
4. Tap Save to publish your rating and review.
1. Open a book detail page.
2. Tap the Recommend button and choose a reader from your list.
3. The reader receives a notification with your recommendation.
Tags let you mark what you are willing to do with a book — Swap (exchange for another book) or Give Away (no return needed).
1. Open a book in your Library and tap Edit.
2. Select the Swap or Give Away tag to indicate your preference.

2. Tag it as Swap to signal you are willing to exchange it for another book.
3. Other readers can see this on your profile and reach out to arrange an exchange.
4. Coordinate the swap directly with the other reader — in person or by post.
1. Tag a book in your Library as Give Away.
2. Another reader can request it and you confirm the giveaway.
3. Hand off the book — no swap required.
1. Go to your Profile and open Settings.
2. Under Privacy you can set your library and profile visibility (public, friends only, or private).
3. Changes take effect immediately.
1. Export your Goodreads library as a CSV file from the Goodreads website (My Books → Tools → Export Library).
2. In GoHardcover go to My Books from the More menu on the Home tab.
3. Tap Import CSV and select the exported file.
4. Your books will be imported and added to your GoHardcover library.
1. Go to your Profile and open Settings.
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
3. Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Note: Deleting your account is permanent. All your data, books, and messages will be removed and cannot be recovered.
